Virtual Driver Installer
Inno Setup source for the Virtual Display Driver installer.
Skip to get Virtual Driver InstallerReal capture · github.com · Oct 21, 2026 Lines 1–27 of Setup.iss, the Inno Setup script this repository holds, with the file tree beside it. The script names the app “Virtual Driver Control”, installs to C:\VirtualDisplayDriver and carries AppVersion 25.8.14, a number that was never released as a build.
Overview
Virtual Driver Installer is the source of the Windows setup program for the Virtual Display Driver: an Inno Setup script together with the PowerShell and batch helpers, driver tools and test scripts it needs, kept in one repository.
The script installs the driver files and Virtual Driver Control to C:\VirtualDisplayDriver. If it finds an existing vdd_settings.xml it asks whether to keep your settings or replace them with the defaults, it can launch Virtual Driver Control when it finishes, and uninstalling runs the driver's own uninstall script.
The Virtual Display Driver's setup program last shipped with release 25.5.2 in May 2025, as Virtual.Display.Driver-v25.05.03-setup-x64.exe. Release 25.7.23 moved to a portable Virtual Driver Control that installs the drivers itself, while work on this script continued into August 2025. This repository has no releases of its own.

Questions
Is there a ready-made installer to download here?
Not in this repository, which has no releases. A setup program, Virtual.Display.Driver-v25.05.03-setup-x64.exe (5.26 MB), was published with Virtual Display Driver 25.5.2; since 25.7.23 the drivers are installed from the portable Virtual Driver Control app instead.
Will reinstalling overwrite my settings?
Not unless you choose to: when vdd_settings.xml already exists, setup offers 'Keep my existing settings (recommended)' or 'Overwrite with new default settings'.
