Post Warz

A GameMaker side-scrolling platformer, released as a demo.

Legacy

Legacy software. Retired and no longer supported. It can’t be downloaded here.

Overview

Post Warz was a side-scrolling platformer made in GameMaker under the PyroSoft Productions name, developed in the open on PyroSoft's community forums as "Post Warz: The Quest for l33t." It featured original music by composer Christian Ponte and pixel art by Nessa Bok, and it was released as a demo.

Development stretched over several years. In February 2004 Mike described a plan to split the game's code into small .PW1 files written in GML, so updates could ship as patches of a few kilobytes instead of a new download of the whole game (likely around 10 MB), which would also make it easier to mod. PyroSoft's timeline dates the release to September 2008, built in GameMaker 6.
