Rite of Eris is a free-to-play 3D survival roguelike set in the fractured realm of Eris, the Greek goddess of strife and discord. It draws on the intensity of Vampire Survivors, the characters of Paragon and the worlds of Hades: pick a hero, survive wave after wave of enemies, and grow stronger as the run goes on.
Each character has a distinct play style, and towering bosses reshape the battlefield, from Rampage in the Ruins of Mystras to Poison Sevarog in the Tower of Hera and Terra in the Gladiator's Arena. The game currently includes 5 maps, 5 bosses and 8 characters, and you can play alone or in local co-op.
Since February 2026 every character, map, game mode and update can be unlocked through play. Optional cosmetic DLC for players who want to support development was announced as coming soon at the same time. The June 2026 update rebuilt each run around XP gems and level-up upgrade drafts with rerolls and banishes, and added permanent progress at the Altar of Power and the Arsenal.
Rite of Eris is built in Unreal Engine 5 for Windows, with programming help from Monster Tooth Studios. Its first free demo build, dated November 20, 2023, went up on itch.io; the game entered Early Access on Steam on February 1, 2024, and had its full release on February 25, 2026.
