BurnFlix home: Recently Added and Movies rows with cached artwork, and the Movies, TV Shows, Files, Games, Apps and Health tabs.
BurnFlix is a local-first media server that brings movies, TV shows, personal videos, games and apps into one library you can browse from the couch. It opens from a saved snapshot of your library, so you aren't waiting on a full rescan every time, while new files, metadata and artwork are picked up in the background.
Scan errors never wipe your library, and removed files are only reconciled after a successful scan. BurnFlix enriches titles with provider metadata, caches covers, backdrops and video thumbnails locally, and gives games and emulators their own section with platform artwork. A Library Health view surfaces missing artwork, metadata gaps and setup issues, and recommendations come from your genres and what you watch most, not AI generation.
BurnFlix is in development for Windows and hasn't been released yet.
Not yet. BurnFlix is in development, and the release will appear on burnflix.app when it's ready. If you need a media server today, PyroSoft's own guide recommends Jellyfin as the honest free option.
BurnFlix loads the library from local cache first, so browsing never waits on a scan. It also keeps personal videos, games and apps in the same library as movies and shows, with metadata enrichment handled automatically.
PyroSoft's stated position is one local-first library with metadata enrichment built in, no cloud dependency and no tier that unlocks the real product. Pricing hasn't been announced.
Metadata enrichment is built in; AI generation is deliberately not, and recommendations come from your own library.
