NYXI Hyperion 2: A Bigger Grip and a Switch Dock Fit Check
Trying the lights, magnetic covers and attached-controller shape.
Article published November 4, 2026.
The first surprise is the packaging. The NYXI Hyperion 2 arrives in a fitted plastic container that almost feels like a controller accessory itself. Then I take the actual halves out and get to the part I want to try: how they feel attached to the Switch.
Lights and removable covers
I turn the controllers on, try the lighting modes and look over the buttons. They have a clicky feel, and there are rear buttons as well as the familiar controls around the front.
The magnetic covers pull off and snap back into place. I like the possibility of changing the look without replacing the whole controller.
The attached shape is the big difference
With both halves fitted to my Switch, the grip feels much fuller than a flat-sided handheld. I bring over a Steam Deck to compare the general shape and explain why that extra contour feels comfortable to me.
I also mention the connection trouble I have had with my existing Switch setup. This quick fitting session does not prove a long-term repair for that issue, and I do not run a full game or drift test here.
Can it still go in the dock?
I try the console in the dock with the Hyperion 2 attached, and it physically fits in this setup. That is a useful check because some of my other attached accessories get in the way. I do not measure charging or establish fit for every dock variant.
My separate NYXI Warrior first look explores a different controller design. This one is about the Switch's attached grip and the hardware controls I can try immediately.
