PLACUY Doorbell Camera: Open the Kit, Then Try the Ring
Looking through the camera, indoor chime and mounts before installation.
Article published November 4, 2026.
I am preparing for a move when PLACUY sends over this doorbell kit, so it is an interesting time to look at another way to keep an eye on the front door.
For this video, though, the camera stays on the unboxing table. Installation and time with the app are still ahead.
The indoor chime is in the box
I open the camera packaging, take out the quick-start material and look at the mounting guide. The indoor chime uses three AAA batteries, and those are included.
There is also a charging cable, mounting hardware and a small tool with different ends. Having the pieces laid out makes it easier to see what I will need when I get to the actual fitting.
Try the doorbell sound
I peel the film off the camera body and try the ring. The short sound sample is something you can hear in the video.
I also discuss the listed voice-changing and tamper-alarm features, but do not carry out a controlled test of them. Hearing the ring on the desk is different from checking the whole system mounted at a doorway.
The camera review comes later
The 2K label, battery-life claims and outdoor features are part of the product’s description. This unboxing does not establish picture quality, weather resistance or how long it runs between charges.
I like the clean look of the hardware and am looking forward to putting it to use. The original product link is below if you want to see the kit from this January 2024 recording.
