Digiera Portable SSD: A Magnetic Fit and a Logo That Lights Up
Attaching the small drive to my phone and connecting the supplied cable.
Article published November 4, 2026.
This is a very small package for something labeled 2 TB. I get the Digiera drive out of its snug packaging and immediately start thinking about where I could put it.
The shiny front catches my reflection, but the more useful detail is on the back: a magnetic attachment for keeping the drive with a phone.
The little backing is included
I take out the adhesive-backed attachment, manual and cable. My phone already has a magnetic adapter, so I try the drive against that and it snaps into place.
Then I connect the cable. The Digiera logo lights up, which is a satisfying moment after talking about the finish while it was unpowered.
Connected is not the same as benchmarked
I read the package’s capacity and speed claims, but I do not copy files, validate the full capacity or run a transfer benchmark in this recording. I say I want to do the speed tests after spending more time with it.
I also discuss the idea of attaching it to a Steam Deck. That is a possible setup, not a demonstrated fit or a guarantee about every case and cable arrangement.
Two different portable-drive ideas
Digiera sent this over. In another session, I opened the NEWQ Portable SSD Touch, which takes a different approach with a fingerprint reader. Those are separate hardware first looks, without a speed or security comparison.
