Reconnecting the interface and fixing driver detection
A busy revision with installation controls temporarily pulled back.
The August 17 control-panel history shows a lot happening in one day: source reorganization, interface changes, settings connected to XML, elevation requests and several rounds of driver detection fixes. It also shows why the final feature list can't be made by adding up every commit message.
Reinstall was removed after a bug, and Install and Uninstall were temporarily removed later that morning. Other commits improved version checks and eventually recorded a buildable application and another driver-status correction. That is a development sequence with changing behavior, rather than one uninterrupted list of additions.
The useful interface work was making settings actually reach the configuration and making administrative operations request the appropriate elevation. A control that looks right but edits the wrong value isn't useful, and a lifecycle action that silently lacks permission is confusing to troubleshoot.
Status detection matters for the same reason. If the app says the driver is missing when it is present, the next button it offers may send the user down the wrong recovery path. The repeated detection changes show attention to that practical issue.
I want this chapter to preserve the temporary removals. Someone reading about the earlier installer work should be able to understand why it might not have been available in the next interface generation. Later rewrites revisited those operations; they shouldn't be projected backward onto this snapshot.
This was a consolidation stage: connect the controls, correct the status and get the reorganized app building. The next major work would address the Electron security boundary and then rebuild the panel around a more modular interface.
