AOV Solar Camera: Opening the Camera, Panel and Mounting Kit

A hardware tour before this particular unit goes up outside.

Article published November 4, 2026.

A separate solar panel gives this camera a different installation layout from a single all-in-one box. In this video, I open the AOV camera kit and work through what each mount and cable is for before putting this particular unit outside.

The panel gets its own position

The package includes guides for the camera and panel. I notice the panel's rounded design, then show its rear mounting point, bracket and cable.

Being able to position the panel separately is the useful idea here. I demonstrate how the bracket pieces fit together at the table; the recording does not include a finished outdoor installation or a measured solar-charging result.

A look around the camera

I raise the antennas, remove the protective film and look over the camera body. The speaker area, mounting arrangement and covered microSD/control compartment are part of that tour.

The supplied hardware and separate mounting templates help explain which pieces belong to the panel and which to the camera. I also discuss wired charging as an alternative to the solar panel.

Keep the new unit separate from my older cameras

I mention that I already use cameras from this maker and have been happy with them. My comment about a camera running for roughly a month is background about my existing setup, not an endurance test of the one I have just unpacked.

The listing describes recording, tracking, night vision and remote viewing features. I do not connect the app, demonstrate a nighttime recording or verify those security and storage claims in this unboxing.

The manufacturer sent the unit for the video. I finish planning to install it, with the original Amazon link below for the exact listing. This article covers the hardware I handle, rather than treating the feature list as a completed security review.
