Sineaptic SE-1: Unusual Packaging and a Comfortable First Listen

Opening the ribbon-driver headphones and trying a couple of songs.

Article published November 4, 2026.

I spend an unusual amount of this unboxing talking about the box. The Sineaptic SE-1 arrives in a folded-paper arrangement that opens in a way I have not seen before, with the quick-start information built into the packaging.

There is a lot of room in those cups

I take out the audio cable and USB-C cable, then lift out the headphones. The springy pads under the headband are the first comfort detail I want to try.

The ear cups look roomy enough for my ears, and the headphones feel light in my hands. I turn them on and find that they already have some charge.

Time for a couple of songs

I can still hear the room around me when I put them on without music. Once I start listening, my initial thought about the bass changes as the track gets going, so I try another song.

I like the sound and the comfort in that short session. That is my first listening impression, rather than a measurement of their response or a report after weeks of use.

The longer test comes later

The ribbon-driver design is what interests me on the package, but I have not opened the headphones to examine it. I plan to spend more time using them in my everyday setup.
