FIFINE BM88: A Lower Route for the Microphone Cable

Opening the boom arm alongside a small BESIGN audio isolator.

Article published November 4, 2026.

I have a large box and a very small one on the table. One is for getting a microphone into a better position; the other is a little inline accessory for the audio connections around my desk.

The small box is the isolator

I open the BESIGN ground-loop isolator first and look over its simple input-and-output arrangement. I explain why I am interested in trying it for buzzing in an audio connection.

I do not record a before-and-after sound test of it here, so the unboxing does not show that it fixes a particular noise or leaves the frequency response unchanged.

The arm has cable covers

Next I take out the black FIFINE BM88. The cable-management sections snap open so I can see where a microphone lead would run, then close again over the channel.

I connect the arm sections and try the supplied tool. I am showing their arrangement on the table, rather than a finished, loaded desk installation.

Keep it below the monitors

The shape is what appeals to me. I want the lower part to run underneath a secondary monitor, with the microphone coming up where I need it, instead of adding another tall arm across the whole setup.

I move the joints to show that idea. A longer test would still need the actual desk clamp, microphone load and cable in place. This video is a first look at the hardware and the layout I have in mind.
