EasySMX X10: Swap the Faceplates and Hear Those Button Clicks

Opening the controller I bought after the original shipment went missing.

Article published November 4, 2026.

This unboxing nearly does not happen. EasySMX’s original package goes missing in shipping, but I am interested enough in the X10 to buy one myself and make the video anyway.

I choose the silver version, which comes with a second set of white faceplates.

Three pieces change the look

I take out the receiver, cable and accessories, then try removing the faceplates. The two grip pieces come away easily enough; the top section takes more attention because of its fit.

I swap the pieces and put the original look back together. I am already wondering what I might paint on the spare white set, but that is an idea rather than a finished modification.

The buttons have a satisfying click

I press the controls and show the two buttons around the back. I also turn it on and try changing the rumble level during the recording.

The connection-mode switch is another practical detail I point out. I do not complete a compatibility test for every platform listed on the package.

Weight is not the whole story

I used to associate a heavier controller with better quality. My experience with other controllers has made me more interested in a lighter design that feels good to use.

I have tried this X10 in some Red Dead play by the time I record my comments, with faster-paced testing still ahead. The later X15 Mecha unboxing is another EasySMX design, with much more lighting.
