Blue Icepop Unboxing: A Small Swap for My Pro X Headset
Opening the replacement microphone and switching to it without changing my existing settings.
Article published November 4, 2026.
I liked the way the Logitech Pro X picked up my voice, so a replacement microphone for that headset immediately caught my attention. The Blue Icepop is a small upgrade physically, and I wanted to hear what happened when I plugged it in.
Opening the replacement mic
In this June 2022 video, I explain that I ordered it from Logitech’s own store for $50 at the time. Inside the package are the microphone and its documentation. I take a closer look before pulling the original mic out of the headset.
Listen at the moment of the swap
Around 3:37, the recording switches to the Icepop. I leave my existing settings alone for this first change, so you can hear what that swap sounds like in my setup. The larger capsule is part of the specification I discuss, not something I independently measure here.
My first reaction is positive, but this is an unboxing and first listen. The stock-mic comparison with EQ adjustments gives the two microphones a more direct follow-up.
