Trying the Mearsun OW17: Hearing My Own Voice Amplified

A short personal wear demonstration, with the hearing-care and performance questions left open.

Article published November 3, 2026.

Putting on the Mearsun OW17 was an unusual experience: I could immediately hear my own voice being amplified. That reaction is the main thing I can share from this short hands-on session.

I am not hard of hearing, as I explain in the video. This was not a hearing assessment or a test of how the device performs for someone with hearing loss.

The clip-on design and the sound I noticed

The product is marketed around a combination of air and bone conduction. I point out the different parts of that design before putting on the two earpieces.

Hearing my own speech through them caught me off guard. It is a personal first impression, rather than evidence about speech recognition, hearing correction or who the device is suitable for.

The listing shown in the video uses the OW17 name and also references MC02. Check the exact model and its current information instead of assuming those identifiers establish a particular medical-device classification.

The app and Bluetooth features are part of the discussion

I discuss the advertised sound-filtering options, frequency controls and Bluetooth uses such as music and calls. I do not run a measured fitting, hearing test or noise-reduction comparison.

In particular, this session does not establish protection from loud sounds, effectiveness for severe hearing loss or the battery endurance stated in the description. Those are different questions from whether I can hear my own voice being amplified.

The relationship behind the video

Mearsun has supplied hardware for the channel. I also talk about a previous device we were able to give to a subscriber who said they needed it. I enjoyed being able to help someone that way, but that story is not a clinical result for this model.

I mention a sale while browsing the product in the original recording. That price is historical, and the description contains no coupon code to reproduce.

The video above shows the short wear demonstration and the features I discussed. My reaction should not be taken as a recommendation for a particular person's hearing needs, or as verification of the product's regulatory status.
