Tank T5: Pairing, Watch Faces and the Bands in the Box

A hands-on setup of the watch and app, with the advertised outdoor features still needing their own test.

Article published November 3, 2026.

The Tank T5's advertised offline maps and GPS were what made me want to open this one. In the video, though, the part I actually got to try was the everyday setup: turning it on, pairing it and putting a different watch face on the screen.

That is a useful first look, but it is not a hiking navigation test or a verification of the 25-day battery claim in the original video title.

From the box to the pairing screen

I removed the protective wrapping, powered up the watch and selected English. The display looked good to me in person, even though my camera had some trouble focusing on it.

The setup pointed me toward the companion app. Before I had finished pairing, the watch had already returned to its normal watch interface. I then went through the connection process and the app found it, with a vibration from the watch as it paired.

The watch-face change was the satisfying bit

I browsed the available faces, selected one and installed it. The transfer and switch felt quick in this demonstration. Some watches I have used have involved more waiting and a restart, so I appreciated how direct this particular change was.

I also browsed the activity and other app sections. Seeing a health or fitness feature in a menu does not tell me how accurate it is; I did not compare the watch's readings against another instrument here.

Different bands, without guessing the metal

The package had more than one look available. I opened a dark metal-style band and an orange sports band, along with replacement pins. I liked the dark band's appearance, but I did not establish that it was titanium, despite the way its finish first struck me.

The magnetic USB charging lead was another simple touch: it snapped onto the watch rather than needing me to line up a tiny plug.

What is still a separate test

I finished with a watch that had paired successfully and accepted a new face, plus a look through its controls and accessories. Offline route use, GPS performance, water resistance and long-term battery life were not demonstrated in this unboxing.

If those are the reason you are considering this model, keep that distinction in mind. The video above shows the setup experience I actually had, and the original product link below lets you check the current model and its terms.
