Gator Frameworks Desktop Mic Stand: Two Pieces and a Weighty Base

Putting the stand together and trying its height adjustment.

Article published November 4, 2026.

Moving the whole microphone arm between recording spots is a pain. I pick up this Gator Frameworks desktop stand so I can give the mic another place to sit without rearranging the arm every time.

The assembly is almost the whole unboxing

There are two main pieces: the round base and the upright. The base feels heavy, and I point out the rubber contact points underneath it before screwing the upright into place.

I like the black, red and white branding as well. It is a simple piece of equipment, with much less to sort out than a folding arm.

Try the height adjustment

I turn the adjustment and raise the stand to see the different positions. Finding the height I want for the actual microphone on the other desk is the next part of the setup.

I do not mount that microphone or perform a load test in this short video. The base gives a solid first impression, but that does not establish support for every mic or accessory.

A dedicated place for the mic

For me, the point is making the move between two recording areas simpler. The stand is assembled and ready for that next step at the end of the video.
