Plaud NotePin: Small Hardware for a Different Kind of Notes

The magnetic clips, desk charger and note-taking workflow that interested me in this wearable recorder.

Article published November 3, 2026.

A recorder is easier to use when it is already with you. That is what interested me about the tiny Plaud NotePin: clip it on, start recording and deal with the notes afterward.

The video is listed as the NotePin S review. My walkthrough focuses on the small hardware, magnetic accessories and the note-taking workflow I described, rather than a timed battery or transcription-accuracy test.

The magnets are part of the design

I attached the magnetic backing to my shirt and showed another accessory with a physical clip. Those give you a couple of ways to wear or move the recorder depending on what you are doing.

The charging piece followed the same magnetic idea. I showed how it attached and how the small desk base sat in place.

Think about notes, not a finished podcast recording

My interest here was capturing a conversation so I could work with the information afterward. I described it as something for transcribing a podcast or discussion, rather than the microphone I would choose to produce that podcast.

I talked through recording on the device, transferring to the phone and choosing the kind of notes you wanted. A class, meeting and study session might call for different summaries.

Templates change what you get back

The workflow I described included summaries, visual guides and mind maps. The important question for me was whether the result helped me find and use the information, not just whether an app could produce a large block of text.

My BOYA Notra Neo first look covers another small recorder built around that general idea. Neither hardware walkthrough is a controlled comparison of transcription accuracy.

Check the current recording plan

I mentioned included transcription credits and the possibility of paying for more. I was uncertain about the allowance during the video, so use Plaud's current plan information for the exact limit rather than treating that spoken estimate as a package entitlement.

The original link is below for checking the exact model and current terms. For the physical size, clips and charger, the video above is the useful starting point.
