Letting Chat Pick DALL-E 2 Prompts: A Robot, a Warning and Some Very Odd Hands
Looking back at my first prompt session from August 2022.
Article published November 4, 2026.
I get access to DALL-E 2 and let chat help decide what to try. It is August 2022, and I am curious about what an image generator will do with a few words—including my own channel name.
Give it a starting point
I begin with a suggested prompt involving a humanoid robot playing chess as an oil painting. Once the results appear, I look through the alternatives and save the first images I have made in that session.
The point is to explore the outputs together, rather than follow a polished prompt-writing tutorial.
One prompt triggers a warning
A hacker-themed image idea is rejected, and the interface warns about policy violations. I stop that direction and move on.
The video’s title jokes about almost getting banned, but the recording shows a warning, not a confirmed suspension. I do not establish which particular words caused it, and the exchange is not a guide to avoiding safeguards.
What does it think MikeTheTech looks like?
I try my channel name and react to the resulting people, computers and phones. Some details feel strangely familiar, while the hands become much less convincing when I look closely.
That mix of surprise and awkward detail is what makes this early session interesting to revisit. The interface, credit discussion and behavior belong to the August 2022 recording, rather than a statement about today’s image tools or policies.
