GameSir G8+: A Bigger Grip Around My Switch
Opening the controller, looking at the spare caps and trying the handheld fit.
Article published November 4, 2026.
I had a very specific reason to be excited about this controller. My Switch had been giving me trouble with its Joy-Con rail connections, and I wanted a comfortable way to hold it again.
The GameSir G8+ looks much closer to the full-size grips I enjoy using.
There are spare thumb caps in the package
I open the box, look at the different cap shapes and find the cable, stickers and manuals. Then I extend the controller to see its physical range.
I hold it beside a Steam Deck for a size comparison. That does not mean I have connected it to the Deck or tested it as a Deck accessory.
My Switch fits between the grips
I take off the Joy-Cons and place the Switch into the G8+. The larger sticks, directional pad and grips feel much more like the handheld arrangement I have been hoping for.
That is a fit and handling impression. The transcript does not show a Bluetooth pairing or a game played with it, so I cannot treat the rail problem as solved by this first look.
Different ways to use the same console
GameSir sent the controller for the video. The SiWiQu Switch stand in another session is a tabletop accessory instead; this one is about the shape of a handheld grip.
Advertised stick and trigger features still need their own performance tests. The original product link is below, and the original outro credit lists http://eme7.com/.
