Hohem Mic-01: The Phone Mic Kit I Also Want on My PC

I expect a phone microphone kit, but the thing that gets me excited about the Hohem Mic-01 is using it at the computer. Having a pair of small wireless microphones could be useful when I want to move around while recording or streaming.

Two transmitters in the charging case

Hohem sends over this early set with two transmitters, a USB-C receiver and a charging case. I open the accessories and find the shaped windscreens, cable and carrying case too.

I look at the receiver’s connections and try the magnetic and clip attachment on a transmitter. The pieces also drop back into their places in the case.

There is a card slot, too

I point out the transmitter’s storage-card slot and discuss recording away from the main setup. That feature is interesting for location work, although I do not carry out a separate card-recording and synchronization test here.

Charging capacity and noise reduction are also discussed as features, without a timed endurance or controlled noise-rejection test.

You are already hearing the kit

Near the end, I reveal that I am using the Mic-01 for the video’s audio, rather than the larger microphone visible beside me. That gives you an actual sample from this recording.

The original description says coming soon and links Hohem’s store. That was the status of this December 2023 preview, rather than a current launch-date promise. I am interested in spending more time with the kit as part of my streaming setup.
