CAMSTRO Camera Kit: Two Solar Panels and a Surprisingly Small Hub

Opening the cameras, mounts and separate storage hub before the outdoor test.

Article published November 3, 2026.

The CAMSTRO kit has two cameras and two solar panels, but the part that surprised me was the hub. From the product pictures I expected something much larger. Once it was on the table, it was a small box with the connections and storage controls in one place.

Keeping the hub separate from the cameras

The idea I discuss in the video is storing footage at the base station instead of relying only on a card inside each camera. I go over the advertised internal storage and expansion options, but this session is the unboxing. I do not fill the storage, test loop recording or verify what survives if a camera is damaged.

That distinction matters because the separate hub is one of the main reasons I wanted to look at this system. Seeing the hardware is the first step; testing its recording behavior comes afterward.

The mounts get a hands-on demonstration

I open the camera's covered controls and charging connection, then fit a camera into its wall-mount bracket. It slides into place and can be removed again. The solar-panel supports use adjustable joints, so I can change the angle before tightening them.

The package also has long panel cables, mounting guides, charging cables and the hub's power supply. I look over the hub's Ethernet connection, sync control and storage ports while unpacking it.

What is still an outdoor question

CAMSTRO sent this kit over. I am interested in trying it as an upgrade from my older cameras, particularly because of the solar panels and the claimed 4K recording.

This video does not show installed footage, a night-vision comparison, recognition accuracy or a weather test. It also does not prove that the panels keep the cameras running indefinitely. For now, it shows how the pieces fit together and why I want to try that smaller-than-expected hub.
