Bones Coffee Fallout Box: Three Bags and an Immediate Smell Test

Opening the collector box before the espresso tasting.

Article published November 3, 2026.

A Fallout coffee box is a pretty easy way to get my attention. This one gives me three bags to open, and before I make a single espresso, I am already squeezing the bags and trying to work out what I am smelling.

The box is from Bones Coffee. This is the unboxing and first aroma reaction, so the actual tasting is still ahead of me.

The three bags in the box

I pull out Valiant Vanilla, Atomic Apple and Wasteland Crunch. Each bag is labeled 12 ounces, which makes this a more substantial package than a small collection of sample packets.

The Fallout presentation is part of the appeal. I spend time with the packaging and names as I unpack them, rather than rushing straight to brewing.

Smelling is the first experiment

I squeeze the bags for a sniff and react to the sweet, fruity and chocolate-like aromas. It is a fun first impression, but what comes out of the bag is not necessarily what will stand out in an espresso.

I want to put these through that next step. For now, I have three very different names to choose from and a box that has successfully made me want coffee. The brew and taste comparison will have to be its own session.
