Melonare MWM414B: Four Bodypacks and Color-Coded Receiver Controls

Unpacking the headset and lavalier kit before an audio test.

Article published November 3, 2026.

Four bodypacks are easier to keep track of when the controls give me a visual clue. The detail I keep coming back to on this Melonare kit is the color coding: the red pack has a matching red control on the receiver.

This is the MWM414B kit as it arrived for the video, with headset and lavalier microphones. I am opening the hardware and working out the layout before doing a recorded sound comparison.

Sorting the pieces

I take out the receiver, bodypacks and microphone accessories. There are several pieces to keep organized, so I spend time looking at the connections and controls rather than assuming every bundle contains the same combination.

The original description uses a different bundle shorthand from the model name I discuss. The contents in this unboxing are the reference for this article; check the seller's current listing for the exact package you are considering.

Match the pack to the control

I power a transmitter, look at its display and examine the microphone connector. On the receiver, the colored controls make the relationship to the individual packs easier to follow.

That is a practical detail when several people have microphones. It gives me a starting point for keeping track of which channel I am adjusting, although I do not run a multi-person sound or range test in this session.

A different job from wireless monitoring

This is a microphone system. My Melonare PM2 unboxing covers a separate monitoring set with a transmitter and receivers for listening. Similar-looking audio boxes can be doing very different jobs.

Here, the first step is getting familiar with the bodypacks, microphones and receiver. Audio quality, usable range and a comparison with other wireless systems still need their own test.
