Yes, completely. Every tool is free, and there's no paid version, account, watermark or daily limit.
Do my files get uploaded?
No. The model runs on your own device, so your recording never leaves it. Once the model has downloaded, this works offline too.
Is there a catch, or a limit?
No. There is no account, no paid version and no monthly quota, because your device does the work rather than a server someone has to pay for.
Which voices are there?
For English, 28 Kokoro voices, American and British, male and female, each with a preview. For 30 other languages, 10 Supertonic voices.
Which model will my device use?
A computer with a graphics card gets Kokoro's full model (325 MB) for the best sound. Phones and older computers get its light version (86 MB), which is nearly as clear. You can choose either. Other languages use Supertonic (398 MB). Results vary with your device's specs, so use your most powerful computer for the best results.
Can I use the audio commercially?
Kokoro is released under the Apache 2.0 license, which allows commercial use. Supertonic is released under OpenRAIL-M, which allows commercial use but bans harmful uses such as impersonating someone without consent. The full terms are in this site's notices.
Is there a character limit?
Up to 20,000 characters at a time, and no limit on how often. Sound starts as soon as the first sentence is ready, so you don't wait for the whole thing.
Which formats can I save?
MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A or OGG.
