Convert anything. Completely free.
Drop in a video, photo, song, 3D model or PDF. Your own computer does the work in this tab, so nothing gets uploaded. Every tool and format is free, and there's no paid version.
You already paid for the computer.
Turning a MOV into an MP4 is arithmetic, and the chip in your laptop does billions of sums a second. For years browsers couldn't tap into that, so good companies built server farms to do the work, and it made sense to charge for them. Ten of the biggest, listed below, still charge about $8 to $25 a month.
Browsers have caught up. WebAssembly and WebCodecs put a full encoder inside this tab, so the upload, the queue and the meter can all go. That's the idea behind these tools: everyday computing chores should cost what they cost to run on your own machine, which is nothing.
Every tool and every format here is free. No paid version, no credits, no account. Keep your money for the hard problems.

How it stays fast and private
Most online converters upload your file to a server, convert it there and send it back. Here the converter comes to your browser instead, so your files stay put and the work runs on your own hardware.
Hardware first
WebCodecs hands video and audio to the same media engine your device uses for playback and screen recording. Changing only the container, such as MKV to MP4, copies the streams without re-encoding and finishes in seconds.
FFmpeg in WebAssembly
When the hardware path can't handle a file (AVI, WMV, GIF, MP3, odd codecs), a complete FFmpeg build compiled to WebAssembly takes over right inside this tab. It downloads once, the first time it's needed, then stays cached for offline use.
Leaves nothing behind
Files are read from disk into memory and are never uploaded or stored. When a job finishes, its buffers, GPU frames and temporary files are released, and engines left idle shut themselves down within minutes. Clear your files, or close the tab, and everything is freed. Analytics follow the site's privacy choices and never see your files.

Questions
Is it really free? What's the catch?
No catch. Every tool and every format is free, and there's no paid version. There's also no account, watermark, file-size paywall or daily limit, because your device does the converting and there are no server bills to pass on to you. PyroSoft makes apps, and this is one we wanted to exist.
Can it transcribe, remove vocals or read text aloud?
Yes, on PyroSoft Audio, and all free. Whisper turns speech into text and subtitles, HTDemucs removes vocals and splits songs into stems, DeepFilterNet cleans noise out of recordings, and Kokoro and Supertonic read text aloud in 31 languages. It checks your device and picks a model that suits it. Each model downloads once, then runs on your own device, so nothing you record or write is uploaded.
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. Files are read by your browser and processed in this tab with WebCodecs, WebAssembly, WebGL/WebGPU and Canvas. The converter's own code (FFmpeg and friends) loads from pyrosoft.pro the first time you use each format. After that, that conversion keeps working with your Wi-Fi off. The site's privacy banner loads from measurement.pyrosoft.pro, and if you allow analytics, Google and Meta receive page-visit data, never your files.
What happens to my files when I'm done?
Converted files live in this tab's memory until you download them. Removing a file from the list frees its memory and preview URLs. Clearing the list, clicking Release all files now or closing the tab also shuts down the FFmpeg workers and their temporary file system. A converter left idle for a few minutes unloads itself too. Convert itself stores nothing in your browser except its own code, cached for offline use (remove it with one click above), and your light or dark theme choice. The site's privacy banner saves your choice, and any analytics cookies follow that choice. They never see your files.
Why is the first FFmpeg conversion slower to start?
FFmpeg is about 10 MB compressed. It downloads the first time you need it and is cached after that. Many conversions don't need it at all, because WebCodecs uses the video engine already built into your browser and GPU.
How big can my files be?
The GPU path reads your file from disk as it goes, so large videos work well, as long as the finished file fits in browser memory (about 4 GB at most). FFmpeg in WebAssembly is limited by memory too, so it works best under about 2 GB per file. For big files, choose MP4, WebM, MKV or MOV output so the GPU path can take them.
Which browser works best?
Recent Chrome, Edge, Brave or Arc on desktop have the most hardware codecs, so more conversions take the fast GPU path. Safari and Firefox work too, though some hardware codecs differ by browser. The This device bar at the top shows exactly what your browser supports.
