GameSalad Top-Down Shooter Project Files were the companion downloads for Mike's free YouTube tutorial series on building a top-down space shooter in GameSalad Creator. The series ran to eleven episodes between February 2017 and January 2019, covering movement, camera control, obstacles, shooting and HP, animations and explosions, enemies and a second level, enemy HP and scoring, scrolling backgrounds, dynamic explosions and room borders, and a second enemy type with progressive spawners. The itch.io page offered the GameSalad project as it stood at Episodes 9, 10 and 11, so viewers could open it and follow along. Downloads were name-your-own-price; earlier video descriptions offered the files for a donation of $1 or more.
