> My June 2024 reaction to the environments, characters and effects I thought I recognized.

I go into this one as an Eminem fan and come out wanting to pause almost every other shot. Houdini gives me plenty to look at through a game-development lens: buildings, windows, characters, effects and some very familiar-looking environments.

## Wait, I recognize that building

The mansion near the beginning immediately catches my attention. I bring up an asset to compare its windows, arches and chimneys with what I see in the video.

Later, I do the same with a subway environment I have used in my own projects. Recognizing the shapes is fun. These are my visual comparisons and June 2024 interpretations, rather than confirmation from the people who made the music video.

## The little details developers notice

I spend time on the repeating interiors behind the city windows and discuss the sort of parallax effect that can make a flat building feel deeper. I also pause on the traffic and vehicle damage because the movement reminds me of the City Sample vehicles.

For some effects, I talk through more than one possible approach. A result that looks achievable with Niagara could also come from a compositing tool. Seeing the final shot does not identify the production pipeline on its own.

## You do not have to model every rock

The part I really want other developers to take away is about using assets. Licensing work from another creator can save time and support the person who made it. Choosing, adapting and combining those pieces is still creative work.

My [Qualisys motion-capture visit](<https://pyrosoft.pro/blog/discover-qualisys-high-performance-motion-capture-8b440983>) is another look at how real-time tools connect people and digital characters. Here, the fun is watching a familiar music video and asking how I might approach its shots.
