The microphone matters, but so do the settings you leave behind. In this June 2022 comparison, I switch between the Blue Icepop and the stock Logitech Pro X microphone, then adjust the voice EQ to suit each one.

## The stock mic inherits my Icepop settings

I start with a sound I have already tuned for the Icepop. Around 1:08, I swap in the standard microphone. I hear less low end in my voice, so I raise the lows and save the change.

## Switching back changes the balance again

When the Icepop goes back in, those settings sound too deep for my taste. Around 1:49, I lower that part of the EQ again. The useful part is hearing how the same headset and my preferred settings interact with the two microphones.

This is a processed, adjusted comparison, rather than a raw or level-matched recording. My [Icepop unboxing and first swap](<https://pyrosoft.pro/blog/unboxing-and-testing-the-blue-icepop-mic-for-the-logitech-pro-x-is-this-the-best-streami-50352ddd>) shows the earlier setup. My [later Pro X experience](<https://pyrosoft.pro/blog/you-shouldn-t-buy-the-logitech-pro-x-b3e8dc89>) is a separate, dated follow-up to these first impressions.
